Default Brake proportioning valve pt 2

Ok, I've bled the brakes twice and stomped on the brake pedal over and over trying to get the proportioning valve in my '79 reset. The brake light on the dash will not go off. I double checked the e-brake switch by holding it down manually. Do you think the valve itself is bad? If so, is it difficult to replace? It definitely is in a difficult place to reach! What do you all think? Please let me know and thanks again for the advice.

do you know which side it shifted to? If its the front, crack a break line on he rear and push the pedal wown til the light goes out. or switch it the other way around.

Would that be the same as say opening the bleeder valve in the rear and mashing down the brake pedal? If so, what's the difference between that and bleeding the brakes?
