it's always beer:30 around here...

Are you going to the "Rolling Sculpture" car show today...?

I'm attending, but without my car. It's under a little construction.

I hate the 60 degree V6 engines. IMO, total junk.

Do you use a manual or electric fan? Are there any clearance issues?

Will be using an adj rod so not too worried about belt slippage.

New hose routing, did not like the old one nor did I care for the chrome water neck.

Still want to more the alt to the passenger and run the stock vette hose, looks better and cleaner. The alt will have an adj rod running to the alt bracket on the driver side.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But did the V6 not have a steel bracket running from the back of the alt down to an exhaust manifold bolt in addition to the aluminum?

Seems like all the ones I can think of from S10/blazers have had it...

Nice looking setup. I like the idea of the serpentine setup. Getting it powder coated would help it look even better. This would be a good winter project for my vette this year. Fevre, How much would it cost to get a set up like is pictured at the first of this thread?

Probably, I am the V8 camaro this came off did but was not included, have one on my Firebird but the alt is rock solid as is so not too worried about it

Eddie I paid $150 for it, tossed the ps pump that came with it and bought a rebuilt one, main reason I bought it was I need the ps pump for steeriods, I used the high pressure hose that came with the serp set and cut the end at the rack then had a fitting made and clamped on at a hyd hose place for $12.

Only problem I have had is the damn ps pump leaks at the cap, even added a second gasket

I have a 1974 that I would like to convert. The stock location of the accessories are the same as the Camaro system. Not sure if the S-10 sytem has the accessories in the same location. I have been doing some research, but have some additonal questions, such as:

Can you still use the stock fan shroud?

Can you use the fan and clutch?

Do you have to use electric fans?

Of the three systems used out there i.e., late model truck, 4.3L S-10s, and 3rd generation Camaros, which system is best for C3s or specifically the 1974?

My serpentine set up came from an 89 V8 camaro. You can use a fan but due to the reverse rotation water pump the fan blades have got to be the opposite of what you now have and you can not use it. Either use a flex fan or the suburbans with a serpentine set up has a water pump operated fan but I dont know the fan diameter.

You are absolutely right. There is a single bracket/brace from the alternator and PS pump that bolts to the exhaust stud. If the brace is left out the aluminum bracket will eventually fail. GM did not put these parts on for no reason, as I said before aluminum does not like high frequency flexing no matter how substantial it looks.
