Rick,

The hood insulation of my '74 seems untouched, and as I said yesterday, it is installed with the fiberglass towards the engine. It's not yellow, but actually kinda gray (which is correct, according to the NCRS manual). Of course, things may have changed in '76...

Mine had the original and it was yellow unfinished on both sides ('76)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: I'm not sure mine has a finished (smooth) side. I'd guess it's just an unfinished fiberglass mat.
