The Edelbrock Torker II will fit. Get the choke horn milled off your carburetor and use a drop base air cleaner. If you haven't gotten your carburetor yet, you can get one all set up with horn milled from http://www.aedperformance.com for about the price of one not set up from Summit.

Ive got a discontinued Holley Street dominator singhle plane. I prefer it over the Torker II as it has longer runners. I extended the runners further into the plenum. With a big drop base 3" aircleaner, no choke horn I can even use a half inch spacer and fit under 1970 hood.

What is your engine, specs rear end ratio, and how do you plan to use the car (street, strip, ect). I dont recomend the Torker II intake for most. The rpm range is 2500-6500.

Javier,
The Torker II will fit as has been stated. Just a heads up- Edelbrock techs said it would improve power output enough to drop .2-.3 from 1/4mile ET but warned me that it would also be likely to cause a stumble as you accelerate from idle. One of our big block members, Zwede if I remember right, had exactly that problem & couldn't tune it out. I just wanted you to go forth with your eyes wide open. Good luck.

I have 3.08 to 1 ratio and 4sp with 454 and was not happy with torker II. I am replaceing it with 390 hp 427 oem manifold, but it is a spread bore carb monting only.

The intake he was refeering to was the 68-69 corvette 427 390hp or L-36 intake which is a large oval port aluminum intake with a spreadbore pattern. I've run one for a few years now and I do like it. They are kinda rare so expect to pay between 200 and 300 bucks for one, your power range on them is about 1500-5300 rpm. I have a torker 2 in my basement but I wouldn't trade my L-36 for it, the L-36 is a better street intake on a stock-mild 454.

I have a Torker II and it seems to work fine. It is a very tight fit! See my sig for dyno results.

Does anyone know if the Barry Grant Tripple D will fit? And if it will perform better than a TorkerII?

If nothing else it sure will look cool!

The 68-69 intakes the only oval ports al intake that I know of . It took me 3 months to find it. The torker II didn't have any power till the 2500 rpm range and with the 3.08 gears it was not a good combination. The other option i was considering was a GMPP intake ( I dont have the # with me) is .5 taller than my torker. I had .5" clearence between the stock open element air cleaner and the hood. If I changed 3"x14" element 2.5" and cuting down or removing the chock air horn I think it will fit. Have you checked the clearence you have now .
