Default Need electrical expertise!

After installing my steering column, I noticed that I don't have turn signals anymore. The switch works but no lights blink. I went thru my electrical wiring diagrams but am not sure which wires control the turn signals or where they plug in. Could someone tell me where the connection is before I drop the column? Instead of searching for a loose connector and where it goes, I hope someone can tell me what I am looking for! Thanks for any help you can give.

The connector should be on top of the steering column towards the floor board if I remember correctly. It should actually be mounted on the column and the plug is about 3" long.

Jim Shea has a library of valuable info on steering colums.....this is his info on the column interface connector schematic.

1. First of all check condition of left and turn indicator lights. Replace damaged bulbs.
2. Check Directional Signal Fuse and replace it if it is damaged.
3.Check also stop/hazard fuse and replace it if it is bad.
4. Check turn flasher and replace it if necessary.
5. Check broken wires and grounds. Perform voltage checks, continuity checks, short circuit tests, open circuit test. Check for bad connections and check if they are loose.

Notes:

From my color wiring diagram, I obtained the following information:

1. Left Turn Indicator Light and Left Front Turn Light, respectively, have a light blue wire (each) that have a common connection and run to the Turn Hazard Switch Assembly. Left turn indicator light has its ground. Also, Left Front Indicator Light has its ground.

2. Right Front Turn Indicator Light and Right Turn Light, respectively, have a dark blue wire (each) that have a common connection and run to the Turn Hazard Switch Assembly also. Right Front Turn Indicator light has its ground. Also, Right Front Indicator Light has its ground

3. Left Rear Stop-Turn Lights of Taillights have, each, a yellow wire connected in a common connection that run to to Turn Hazard Switch Assembly. These two lights have a same common ground.

4. Right Rear Stop-Turn Lights of Taillights have, each a dark green connected in a common connection that run Turn Hazard Switch Assembly. These two lights have a same common ground.

Good luck!

There's a couple things to check here-- Make sure your flasher is firmly plugged in at fuse panel. As stated above, the connector is clipped to the steering column under the dash with the " harmonica" clip. I believe that the turn signal wires are light blue-left/ dark blue-right.

I brought my whole column inside this winter and rebuilt it. It was quite a challenge to put it back together. I chose to install a remote ignition switch because the key would slide in and out in any position. I also ended up with a floor-mounted hi-lo beam switch because I forgot the rod for this switch in the reassemble. But the worst mistake I made was to install the ring or something that cancels the turn signals backwards, or maybe upside down! Every turn of the steering wheel made the horn beep! I had to pull the wires off the horns and installed a push-button for the horn relay on the dash. I will never take a tilt/tele column apart again!

I appreciate all the information. I have the harmonica style plug, plugged in, unless I have it upside down, which I don't know is possible, I must have a fuse bad, a bad connection, or a flasher bad. I will check the plug one more time and then start checking the things you guys suggested!
