I'm swapping my radiator for a Dewitts DF Al with dual spals. The fittings on the radiator side of the cooling lines look a bit old, and may not want to budge. Are these standard lines? Meaning, can I go to Kragen and cut one of their double lapped steel lines in half and use these? I'd rather not have to shell out $125 for new lines if I can do the same thing for $6.
You may want to try disconnecting the rubber hose and then slip an exact size box wrench over the line and onto the fitting. Once you have got the box wrench positioned, then simply take a lightweight hammer and tap the wrench. I just did this with my own radiator fitting, which had not been touched in over 35 years and did not have a problem. This procedure should also work for you without a problem.
Guaranteed may be a bit strong but they do help a lot. You can get just the small fittings/lines separately from the long lines. then all you would need is the short hoses. Don't use fuel line for those, get trans cooler line.
