Is this a good deal?
I have a guy that says he will sell me a 6" cowl scoop, fiberglass it on to my 78's hood and primer the whole hood for $500. Is this a good deal? My zz502, Edelbrock Air Gap intake and K&N filter don't quite fit under my stock 78 hood. So I'm thinking of going this route, but need your opinion.

a problem might arise when you bring that hood to be painted. the paint guy will not accept responsibility for the glass guys work and when it cracks or separates each will point the finger at the other. have one person/shop do the whole job. buying a prefab hood is more predictable as there are no seams nor bonding issues. im intersted in your results as im in the exact position with my small block and rpm air gap. i like the 69 z28 type cowl but my 82 has kind of a point in the slight bulge not a square front. i dont know how the glass guy will manage it so ill probably get a l88 hood and be done with it and sell the stock hood.
