From doing some measuring, just about all of these trap doors and dividers will have to be cut out. Since I don't know how to use a torch, it looks like I just wasted my money.
I answered you IM before I saw this post ... prefer email next time.

On circle track motors I use pu that extends into right side of pan ... but NOT on a street car!

On the street car I did NOT use the pu that goes to side ... I DID use melling PAIR (centered pu 12557, op 10552) in my previous post for street car. It did take a small bit of trimming as mentioned by Bee Jay ... no welding. Heck, for a street car you can take the cheezy tray-scraper out & sheetcan it.

I'm taking it easy around right turns and keeping my oil level full untill I can get around to droping this pan again to change to a center pickup. Can anyone suggest a big block center oil pump pickup for a shallow pan? I will prolly take a stock big block oil pump pickup and modify. What are you waiting for? you ask. I need an LT4 Hot Cam and conversion lifters, since I gotta drop the pan again, while I'm in there, I can pull the timing chain cover too. Since I gotta pull the radiator for the cam change, I might as well remove the front bumper/air tank. And since the carb and manifold will be off, I might as well do the fi conversion too. And while i'm in there, I should get some new headers. And that will require a new flowmaster exhaust system.................
The story of me and my Vette and Harley. More time wrenching than driving or riding. But hey, I'm not in the pool hall chasin' women.

I’ve been following the pan stories. So you’re using a BBC pump Bee Jay? Pumps are really pretty cheap. I just buy the Melling and blue print them my self. I just take the time to open them up and do a deburr, radius grinding, and polish them out. Melling sells all the pan depth pickups separately. I braze my pickups on so they never come off.

My 383 has the racing 8 quart made for upto 4 inch stroker small blocks. They are not for everybody. Not just the price tag, but the time involved in test fitting the crank scrapers. It's like a couple of hours with the motor on the stand to set it up to within .020 outside the throw and .040 of the crank throws sides.

But once it's right I have never had a pressure surge even in the longest of turns at high "G" loads.

Actually the L-82 had a very nice windage setup. Which the Morrosso Diamond stripper is just a copy of. Summit racing sells them. I also think that these cheaper E-bay looked interesting. All you really need is the extra oil volume and some trap doors to control the oil flow and the diamond stripper..
