The first thing I need for my Corvette is tires.

I brought it home on four rims is all, we carefully flatbedded it onto my friends ramp truck, using plywood to cushion the wheels.

It has the factory 15 X 8 Rally wheels which I will be keeping, suspension is also stock and will never be lowered or anything like that.

What are the ideal sizes for the car?

I am thinking
Fronts - 245 60 15s
Rear - 275 60 or even 50 series 15s?

For now the car is going into storage, until my Camaro is done, basically just need to have it movable, perhaps at the end of the summer when the Camaro is on the road I will throw a motor in the Corvette.

I saw a 70 last weekend with 255/60s on 8" turbines all the way around and they looked great. Was REALLY close to the trailing arms though. I am going to try them in BFG radial TAs, black side out.

So 255s rub on the front? I really wanted the same size all the way around but don't want tires hanging out of the front fenders either. Want to keep the tire height the same as the 225/70s I'm sporting now, thats why I thought 255s would be good

I run 245-60-15 all the way around. No clearance issues and I can rotate the tires to distribute wear.

I used to run 255's all around on my 78...no rubbing..some rub..some don't...

I run 255-60's Goodyear Eagles all around and don't have a rub problem anywhere. I have factory sidepipes, which means you lose a little clearance behind the front tires, but still no problem with the 255-60s. It's close, but no cigar.....

I have stock trailing arms and am running 235-60 15s on the front and 275-60 15s on the rear on 15 X 8 rims with no rubbing. I also had no problems running the same tire configuration with mid 70's aluminum Corvette wheels before I installed the Cragars and adapters.

The car needs a ton of work, for now, just need to be able to move it around.

I have 15 X 8 YJ8 "Pace Car" wheels on my '74 with 255-60 15s Eagle STs all the way around. No problems at all.

I had the same set up...only thing it rubbed was the upper inside of the finders if i hit a dip in the road

How much clearance between tire and bottom of fender with the 245/60s do you have when you lock your front ? I put 245/60s on my 69 and had exactly a 1/4 inch gap on both sides. I chose to move down to 235/60s up front b/c I just wasn't comfortable with a 1/4 clearance.
