Default Steering Play

72' has a considerable amount of play in steering. How much is play is normal. Would a new steering box remove all play?

check out the rag joint, make sure its not coming apart. Contact member Gary Ramadei [gramadei@aep.us]. He is the steering/suspension guru and has an excellent paper on tuning your box

your entire steering linkage can be worn....it can be an accumulation or old worn parts that are causing you problems and if your noice steering problems while driving it can also include bad rear alignment or wheel bearings
