Weekend Project Update #1: KYB Shocks
I had a pretty busy weekend with a few projects. I have a 69 convertible (305, 4sp), which is my daily driver.
It was definitely time for new shocks, so I ordered KYB GR-2s. Paid about $20 each for the fronts and $30 each for the rears.
Interesting things learned:
If it is really hard to compress your shocks and it takes 20 seconds for them to come back, they were well overdue for a replacement.
The rear shocks are really hard to replace. I had to give up and will need to pay a pro with air tools to do it for me.
New shocks are great! I dont have experience with other brands, but this was a drastic improvement. No complaints with the KYBs yet.

I have really enjoyed diving into the 180 degree off-ramps now that the car feels like it is going to hold the turn. Will the rear shocks change the ride as dramatically as the fronts?
