Default Cylinder head upgrade

The stock L82s were a 76.18cc with an intake of 2.02 and an exhaust of 1.60. I'm looking for an upgrade for my 350, and was wondering what is considered an upgrade in these variables. Don't I want a smaller chamber, around 64cc? And am I looking for a smaller valve lift for my exhaust and intake, or the exact opposite?

yes get the smaller 64cc chamber, you may want a hydraulic
with a little less duration, I had a 78 with an L/82 that cam
does not have much torque, not sure what you are after.
a shorter duration high lift cam would be a better. I don't think I
would try the XE conp. some seem to make them work but a lot
of people are having problems with them, think about a crane,
lunati.

The Comp XEs took alot of heat here for a few months when the oil companies took the zinc out of their motor oil and it caused flat tappet cam failure. Comp was the cam everyone was using (with good reason), so they took the brunt of the blame until the real culprit was discovered. My Comp XE262 is great; a bit more lift on intake and exhaust than your L82 cam, with great torque too. God bless, Sensei

you could always just use one of teh Generals Formulas

2.02 heads
1970 z28 cam .447 lift I/E, 222 duration I/E, 112 lobe sep, if you are running stock exhaust man the bump up the exhaust duration a littel. thisn wht the fact that your compression will jump up to 10:1 or so should be nice

I'm running a set of Dart 180 Iron Eagle heads with 64cc chambers plus the XE262 cam. This setup has been great for my DD...7K miles so far without issues.
