Cleaning piston bores
I used ATF with those green nylon pads to scrub out the abrasives.
Then I used brake cleaner to clean it until I didn't see more grey
grit coming out. Yet if I go back to the green nylon pad, I get more
dirt coming off. I stopped there.
Is that good enough? Or do I need to do it again, or use something else?
The crosshatching is still there, the pads are not abrasive enough to
cut that down...
After that I use the soap + hot water. Follow that up with repeated paper towels and ATF untill they come out clean. Paper towels do not cause lint problems like cotton rags do.
Just one way to do it.
