Just thinking good thoughts here guys ... if I wanted to take the original 454 out of my 74 and let it take a nap, would there be any modifications required to install the ZZ502 ? Would the accessory brackets, powersteering pump etc. all match up ? Would there be an oil pan clearance problem ? Right now there would be a wallet clearance problem but I'm working on that.
You'll need an electric fuel pump and if you have a manual trans, you'll need to drill and tap a hole for the clutch cross shaft ball stud. I'm not sure about the oil pan, but I don't think there is a clearance problem with Vette's.
All the accessory holes are the same.
I installed one in a 1st gen Firebird and those are the issues I ran into.
