Default Back to Points - Wiring refresher needed

My (Pertronics) conversion may be acting up this morning. Going to switch back to points to get car home from work. Refresher needed as to what wire goes where. Been a long time. Won't be able to adjust dwell. Hope it get me home.
Thanks in advance.
Dale in Badgerland.

Dale,
For the points you should have two wires going to the positive side of the coil, one from the ballast resister (7~8 volts) and one coming up from the starter (12v while starter is engaged). from the negative side, you have your points lead (and tach if you have one). Then on the inside of the dist, you will have the capacitor (condenser) connected to the points. Just make sure that the leads for the points and condenser are isolated or it will never fire. If you can bump the engine over to get the points on the flat spot of the distributor, make sure that the points are well closed, and that they do open on the high spot of the distributor. It should at least run like this, but may not be optimal dwell. I think all this is right, if not, someone will let me know!
