Many moons ago I cranked 12.5 and 11.1 big blocks with the old
chevy starters and they done a fair job. The price tag on the
chevy mini is very tempting, Should I buy one?? they are next
to nothing in price compaired to the aftermarket mini.

The OEM mini to get is the one that came on later Vettes. They are made by Nippon Densio. Or something like that. Really nice units. I didn't find out that till later that some local 540's use them.
