I know there are several out there and a lot of guys run them, but I was wondering what everybody thought the best one was. Looking for just the drop in aluminum and I don't have a radical motor yet, but sooner or later will have between 500-700 hp outta my 400sb so I would like to have something that will stand up to that.

From everything I hear Tom DeWitts setup is the BEST out there, coold BBlocks in Texas even....

I don't have that kind of power, but since you are going there and apparently need a rad....do it ONCE and do it right....

They only offer one for auto tranny's i think. I assume this is the one i want. Sounds like a stupid question but i thought there were two different thicknesses??

Well, I have a B-Cool with duel fans and it works great too.
What does the dewitts setup cost with fans and wireing and mounts?

It would cost 875 for the rad and fan setup. How much was ur bcool and why does everyone say dewitts? How much hp could you run with a dewitts?

I have a Howe rad with Derale duals and with the custom mounting bracket I fabricated,and the Painless kit. I have for a total of $520 plus my time of installing. Plus it pulls 4,000 cfm to cool my 355 and does a excellent job.

I've been using a Griffin with good results. Never overheats even in 90+F weather, and I don't even have the front airdam on the car.

I have been running a Be Cool with good results......but after seeing the quality of the DeWitts, I wish I had one.

I don't think anyone has anything bad to say about DeWitts. Back when I bought mine DeWitts was not around yet so I got a BeCool. Before buying I had some questions so called them up. The designer of the radiator called me back and answered all my questions (very nice guy). Got their radiator and it has been flawless for 8 years now. Cools my 454 w/ AC in Dallas traffic. Can't ask for more.

Well, I hadn't heard of de Witts when I bought the B-Cool. The $1100 may have been too much but it is 3 row, auto trans, duel spals, mtg. kit, machined rad cap, WITH the B-Cool logo finely engraved on the top, burp bottle, and wiring kit with 2 relays and temp sensor...... and good to 1000hp. Fits perfect.
The quality is first class. Engine never gets over 200, even in Texas.

I have a B-Cool in my 67 small block. I can cruise at Hot August Nights (about 5,000 feet in elevation) with the air conditioning on, and temp never goes over 170. Lots of cars boil over at this altitude after idleing for long periods of time.

Of course I think we make the best but what defines "The best"? Is it the best fit, best looks, best performance, or the best price?

FIT:Well I know ours fit better, dealers tell us everyday. That's because we made four dedicated models for C3, instead of one model fits all 69-82. We call our line "Direct Fit" for a reason.

LOOKS:Something we do special, that doesn't get a lot of attention is the use of press formed end tanks. The tooling to produce custom formed tanks cost us many thousands of dollars but the end result is a one piece formed tank without any fabrication welds. We made the cross channels with four bends (hat shape) so they are identical to the factory brass unit. Not only does this look stock, but it provides standardization when desigining electric fan brackets. The channels even have the rectangle punch holes. So, when you paint one of these black you can hardly tell it's not the real thing. Paint won't hide a B\C.

PERFORMANCE:We have a higher fin count (16fpi) and b/c is low (13fpi)

PRICE:We are about the same rad for rad depending on what dealer you buy them from. But when you add up the dual fan option, we are much better. Our dual fan kit (SP460) is $425 and comes with everything, including a programable controller. Our finished mounting looks a whole lot better than the universal/adjustable kit that b/c sells.
A DeWitt rad/fan combo is $920, a b/c can be up to $1200 when you add all the brackets and wiring kits.
