Go to your speed shop and purchase the $5 plastic tool that checks valve train geometry,..money and time well spent. It will tell you if you your push rods are ok, too short, or too long.
If the block has ever been decked, or heads milled, or you're using a head gasket that's thinner or thicker, etc, it's always best to check.
The little tool fits over the rocker stud (with rocker removed) and should touch the valve stem and push rod simultaneously as you lower it down the stud. If it's not touching both, you'll need a longer or shorter PR's.
I bought the push rod length tool (looks like a push rod but screws out to adjust for different lengths). Then adjusted until I passed the roller tip test.
I used stock length with my full rollers and the geometry worked out fine...Prob'ly shoulda checked 'em first, but I already had the p-rods and rockers and wanted to git 'er done.
