Default Opinion on my Engine Setup

Hey guys,...

Had to change my valve springs because of damage that occured... Decided that I was going to do the heads and a cam for the summer at the same time. Just wanted to make sure my engine can actually take what I'm about to do to it, and that the combo with actually work together.

I spoke with a nice gentle men today from "White Performance." I bought a set of roller rockers from him. He told me he also sold complete sets of high performance aluminum heads and that he would make me a good deal on a set if thats the direction I wanted to go in.

SO... check it out --- what do you think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-C...mZ 8069297126

Decent???
----------------------
No for my first question. I am running the 144 blower + the heads, and a new cam. Would 9.0-9:5:1 Compression ratio be in the range i need to make power with this set of aluminum heads or would I need to go higher??? Also,... can my Stock goodwrench 350 bottom end even take 9.5:1 + the blower???? These are my major concerns...

If everything seems in order, this is the setup in consideration:

Bottom end is all Stock GM Goodwrench Engine - 4 bolt main - Cast aluminum heads, cast iron crank
750 Double Pumper blower carb
144 B&M Powercharger/blower
Aluminum (listed above) 200cc runner, 64CC chamber 2.02/1.60 valve heads [engine originally came with 76cc chambers @ 7.8:1?Compression]
HEI + MSD 6A

Haven't chosen a cam yet
And what head gasket set?

Thanks guys,

Barry

Default Cam Choice???

B&M 144 blowers are a lot of fun. I had one set up on my 75 K1500 4x4. I used AFR190cc's, 800dbl pumper 84/84 jets, MSD 6 BTM, 32 degrees timing, 1 5/8" Headman Headers, Comp Cams Nitrous HP CL12-556-4 262/280 Duration 462/480 Lift, 1.6 Rollers, 400 SBC Internally Balanced with 5.7" Rods Keith Black Hyperuetectic Pistons. Dyno showed 501HP 552Trq. 92 Premium Fuel. IMHO I'd recommend the above cam for a true daily driver, it sounds great, and pulls hard from idle to 6200 rpm's. Heck I ran 14 flat at 100mph and 0-60 in 6 seconds flat with 35" tires, and a 4" lift. It also got 14 mpg on the highway. FYI (5030 pound truck) Just think how fast a vette would run. Lots of fun. I have a 6-71 in my 73 Vette, and am working on a frame off. Good Luck.
