aftermarket performance
Hey. I was wondering if you could recommend good cams for a '78 L-82 4spd. I have heard comp cams but which camshaft from them would you recommend? What about exhaust systems? Any specific aftermarket company you recommend? Who makes good headers? Are there any other bolt on parts that would be a good investment? How much hp could I expect with K&N filter, header, exhaust, no cat, and comp cams? Also do you know any good websites to buy these parts? My main requirement is that I want to be able to put the car back to stock if necessary.

comp cams 268 is supposed to give you 100 HP over stock, K&N filter gives you something like 1-2 more MPG on the highway(dunno 'bout HP). headers/exaust will bost you maybe 30-40...so your looking at 150 more HP...that would be my estimation. I may be off a bit.

Dynomax coated headers & mufflers, duals & crossover. W/ Comp Cams 268H or XE262 will put over 300 HP. W/ better heads 2.02/1.60 335+ HP.
