I have a 71 small block with a manual transmission and I am planning on using exhaust manifolds from a 65 small block. The 65 Ram’s horn manifolds have a 2-1/2” outlet versus the stock 2” for a 71.
I have found suppliers of mandrel bent 2-1/2” exhaust systems for a 1971, but the pipes reduce down to 2” at the exhaust manifold, because that is what stock was in 1971. Since I will be running the larger manifolds, the suggestion was made to purchase the exhaust system for a 1964-67 Vette.
With the exception of the mufflers and their associated hangars, will the exhaust system (length, bends etc.) be the same between these 2 years?

Did you look into an LT-1 Exhaust? I think the manifolds are 2-1/2" but I'm not sure though!!
LT-1 Exhaust uses the same 2" to 2 1/2" reducer pipe...
I would get the 2 1/2" manifold pipe for the 67 and cut and weld... Or better yet and cheaper, you could probally get the 2 1/2" flange pipe from a muffler shop or have the muffler shop convert the new pipes for you...

Thanks. This is a good suggestion - I'm just having a tough time locating a good shop to weld stainless where I am.
