Car on jackstands for 3 months while working on rebuilding rearend.
Today worked on cleaning up the intake manifold for repaint. I noticed upon removing the two forward most intake manifold bolts on each side that water seaped out from under the edge of manifold. The bad part it is looks like chocolate milk. The really bad part is when I pulled the radiator cap everything in there looks like chocolate milk too. The oil on the dipstick looks normal (not cloudy). I am guessing since the car has been sitting the oil in the radiator has accumulated at the top.
Head or intake gasket? Can I drive the car a short distance to my mechanics? Kind of bummed as rear is almost done and was ready to cruise.
Was hoping to tackle the engine next summer, but might have no choice now.
Could be right about the intake manifold gasket. If it were me then I'd drain the oil to check for water in the oil. If none replace the intake gasket, drain and replace the coolant, refill the oil, run the engine just until it reaches normal temp, then stop and check the fliuids to see if they're recontaminated. I'm betting you get lucky.
