While out driving my 77 Sunday, I noticed that the steering wheel turned easier to the right ,than to the left, more effort was needed to turn left. I jacked the wheels up off the ground and the condition was pretty much the same,The pump and power cyl. were replaced last summer , the steering box was also checked out, any ideas????
sounds like what mine did. It seemed to want to turn right at any bump but left took a little work. I rebalanced my control valve and now it works great. Give it a try, it is quick and easy and don't cost a thing.....
Well things are getting worse ,after reading everyones reply about adjusting the control valve , I go out in the garage today to adjust the valve.there is p/s fluid on the control valve and all over the floor. I think the valve is dead. Looks like i'm replacing the valve, bummer!!!
the control valve can be rebuilt fairly cheaply if you have an average level of mechanical ability. That is assuming your current valve isn't mechanically damaged and just has bad seals
