help from experienced - attacking the laundry list
after 10 months of daily driving, the laundry list of "need-to-do's" looks like this:
~it is currently burning thru a quart of oil every 400 miles.. plan for engine replacement.
~original suspension, and saging on driver's side.. plan on upgrading to poly, springs, shocks.
~wheel bearing noise.. replace when doing suspension.
~clutch throwout brg noise.. thought to replace with engine swap.
~suspect rear diff spindle bearing whining.. would like to replace when doing suspension.
~rear u-joint squeek.. again, while doing suspension.
sooo...
where should i start??
bearings and a new throwout bearing.
Pull the trans resurfaceor replace the flywheel and install a new clutch and throwout bearing.
the rear end stuff no telling what all will end up being replaced.

Having said that, oil is cheap. I'd start with safety issues then work to the ones that could cause a big expense. In your laundry list, I'd probably start with the sagging suspension (steering kind of matters) and then go to the rear end issues as a broken u-joint can ruin your whole day. You probably want to do the motor first, but just add another quart. Also, I guarantee that as you start working through these issues, the list will grow.
