Default Help with fuel pump draining...

Removed the fuel line between the fuel pump and Holly. Fuel keeps draining and draining from pump. When will it stop? I am sure at least a pint has come out already. Will it drain the whole fuel tank?

Sorry for the novice question but the Haynes manual does not say anything about this much coming out.

Thanks

Yep. You can drain the whole tank this way. Get a small clamp or vice grips and clamp the rubber line coming from the tank. Then you will only get a smaller amount of fuel. If you can do it, get it at the line just before the fuel pump.

Get a screw or a golf tee or a pencil or something that is just big enough to shove into the end of the rubber hose. That should plug it long enough to finish the swap.
