Default Turn signals don't work.

I had the steering column out when I installed a 5 speed tranny. Ever since, my turn siginals do not work. I have replaced fuses, check the harmonica style plugs to make sure they are connected properly, checked the relay, flashers and everything works but the turn siginals. The one thing I haven't checked is the ground wire on the column. I know it is hooked up but I have not checked it; in fact this is the first time I have thought of it. Does anyone think this could cause the turn siginals not to work?

Mine don't work, either. I am assuming that its a ground, as I have tried the switch, flasher, fuse, bulbs, etc. and still have no results. I just don't know enough about the circuit to know where it is grounded to and/or what other issues could cause these not to work. Strangely, my hazards work fine and when I turn the signal on and hit the brake, the side with the signal on goes out.

Any help would be appreciated for me, as well

I've got a stupid question...my left signal works fine...my right just comes on...won't blink...Checked the rear bulb--fine...is there an easy way to check the front or do I have to take the nose off? Other ideas of what may be going on?

Usually when a light comes on and doesn't blink there is a shoer somewhere or another bulb at fault. Vette wiring is new to me so I am trying to learn it. I would look for a short to ground or bad bulb and hopefully someone who knows vette electronics will help us both!

Mine was the connection at the plug. one of the wires that goes in on the outer edge of the plug is removeable, the others are formed into the plug. the removeable one was loose and had a poor connection. i was able to wiggle it and get the turn signal to work. needle nose pliers, contact cleaner and electrical tape fixed the problem. Good luck!

When you say connection at the plug are you talking about where the turn signal switch connects to the dash harness (at the steering column) or another one. I definitely want to fix my signals...I'm sure the one time I don't use them (because they don't work), I will get pulled over or something.

The bulbs are on the same circuit, so a short would kill both bulbs and blow the fuse. Check for burnt out bulbs. (Opens)

No back at the light itself, right in the plug that twists into the socket.
