upper control arm removal

Default upper control arm removal

I need to know if you have to remove the fan shroud to get the upper arm off. I,m in the middle of installing the VBP mono spring and upper arm kit. thanks for any help

I replaced mine on a stock 70 SB and did not remove the shroud.

I didn't, but I did have to remove the fan and fan surround and all the shroud bolts and pry it around with a bar......

yes, they are a very tight fit on the frame, but can be taken out with some effort .

I got them off on a 70 big block without removing the fan shroud. I did have to remove the bolts that mount them to the frame on the passenger side though. A few hits with a good size hammer/sledge knocked them out. They're splined like lug studs or the rear shock mounts...

Good luck, it's not too difficult!

hey thanks guys I got them out, well at least one side. I,l work on the other side tomorrow,right now I need several drinks.
