Retiring the Yellow '80 For The Summer...
After driving 'Ol Yeller 6,500 miles this summer, it's time to put her away to rest and drive the other C3s. She faithfully took me to Baltimore,Md, Atlanta,Ga, Joplin,Mo, Utica,Il, Syracuse,Ny and even got Bloomington Gold Survivor(she was trailered there). She never complained, just had to bleed a little air out of the right rear caliper in Atlanta. Also, coming back from Baltimore,Md earlier in the Spring my wife and I ended up driving her home the last 2hrs in a snow storm!!!

Len, he went over to Corvettes@Carlisle with my wife and I. We both had our Corvettes(he had his '73 Yellow Metallic Coupe, I had my Blue '68) in the "NCRS FunDisplay" there. Saw Gary's LT-1 there too, but never saw GaryS the whole weekend!!!

Jeff, great talking and meeting you. As always, it seems there is never enough time at these shows to see and do everything. The drive back to Ohio was good while we were in Pa, then alot of rain once we got into Ohio. Made it back in 5 1/2 hours which was'nt too bad. We are 305mi away from Carlisle.

Good deal! We made it back in about 5 hours as well, stopped for lunch once and gas at least three times , it's about 280 miles to Carlisle from our house. I had some ping/pre-detonation on the way up, kept retarding the timing when stopping for fuel, and about 100 miles into the trip home the lead additive finally started helping out a whole lot, so I was able to take her up to 75-80 mph for the rest of the trip with no audible pinging :chevy These heads have got to come off :smash: and the cam's got to be changed as well (too much duration for a street car) Didn't catch any rain, luckily.

Paul, I was there the whole weekend; even dropped by the tent but I, too, was late. I wore a CorvetteForum name tag the whole weekend but I didn't see anyone else. I was busy looking at the parts and managed to score some really nice parts for a song: a correct and perfect antenna - $5; perfect right door handle (cup) - $1 because the part I didn't need, the flap handle, was scratched; a 270 coil for $50 and then later another one for $10 that included the bracket and condensor (both of them work). Not a bad weekend and I got to drive the 72 LT1. However, I really HATE the 4.11's on the highway. :(
