How to get the steering column out
What is the trick to getting the steering column out? I have a 69 big block with manual, and I can't figure out how to get the column out. It seems the only thing holding it in now is the cable and lever assembly on the shaft right next to the firewall in the engine bay. How do you remove this?
I am going to through the dash finding all the things Bubba touched. Turns out the radio didn't work because he didn't reattach anything to it; the antennea, the speakers, power, nothing.

Go to http://www.corvettefaq.com and look under Suspension and Steering, Adjust Dimmer and/or Ignition Switch - Dropping Steering Column and Adjusting. There are complete instructions on dropping and removing your steering column.
