So the Ford and Chevy hydroboost units aren't the same? They definitely look the same in pics.

Nope, not the same. Ford units got different fitting sizes and ratios are different, thats according to Hydrotech

OK, first off I have a '88 vette serpentine belt drive on the '89 truck block roller 355 engine and TPI for some years now....around '01 or so I installed a rack/pinion did my own, a la Steeroids....used the same coupling I had in the line, cut/spliced the 3/8 steel factory lines with just a brass plumbing union from hardware store...meant for sink faucetts, or any 3/8 copper line....same thing, works great been on there 12 years now....the first splice....

now to do the rack install I just modded a Grand Am line to fit the pump....whoopie doo....same coupling as modded to fit the stock crap....

so when hydroboost came in, it had all the original hydraulic lines from whatever truck it came from....wonderful...they in good shape...so noticing they were the same AM fittings as the rack....I bent the lines to shape to fit the rack and the pump output lines and so it works....I used another plumbing union to shorten about 6" of surplus steel in the line feeding the hydroboost....

being cheap and lazy, with no real time to do tons of research on just some new 'fitting'...I just used what was available, and CHEAP....ie, came with unit....works fine, don't leak a drop....

put my *** throug the wheel when applying the brakes with enthusiasm....gotta LOVE IT>>>>>first set/brakes this car ever had...
been 35 years....gotta start/stop sometime....
