Welcome Allan72. I had the same hood clearance problem when I bought my '70. Now have a full blown L-88 hood.

Welcome Fellow 72 Drop-Top!

A cure for your hood interference might be to put the Performer on Ebay and buy a Weiand 8004. The 8004 is probably one of the lowest profile and cheapest aluminum Quadrajet intakes you can find. I used to run one before I got my L-88 hood. ;)

Good Luck.

Welcome!

How does the exhaust sound from 1500-2500? Still deafening? I'm asking since I am considering swapping the chambered into my '80 (using 75-79 system since my aftermarket x-member will accomodate). I may instead just go true duals and reuse my Dynomax Super Turbos.

TedH, The chambered exhaust system is fine for me as I spend little time on the highway, and it is OK for 60-65mph but at sustained speeds of 75 or higher it is too muich for me. I will keep it for sure cuz it really turns heads and I get plenty of waves and thumbs up form lookers.
I'll work on some pics I really like showing the car off.
