Default Corvette Door Handle Spring

I see that Eckler's has this spring to correct the door handle problem, but they specify 1968. I thought the door handles were basically the same for most if not all the C3's. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work on a '75? See link below:

Thanks

The 68 handle does not actuate the latch, it is only a hand hold, where the 1969 and up actually pull on the latch. That spring is specific to the 68 handle..if you look, they also make a V wave spring for use on the newer handles for sag.

I used something similar, don't recall the vendor anymore, to fix one of my handles, but after a few days it already lost most of it's tension and the handle was hanging down again as before.

Ended up taking the handle apart and replace the original spring in there with one similar to it that I had laying around.
I know, bubba and cheap sollution, but it has worked fine since...

Regards, Sonny

pretty sure I read a post by Jughead saying he had used the spring and it is working without a problem after almost 2 years....from what I can remeber.

Thanks for the link and don't be offended but I find that the one listed in the link is more of a patch job although a great patch, but I'd rather replace the spring and have it work as it should. I do find that $6.95 for a spring is outrages.

jotto, are you trying to say that Jughead, used the spring in my link or the other one......and it worked in the non 68 model year?

There's got to be someone local that sells that type of spring and hopefully for a lot less.
