Default Looking for Help with Lt1 96 engine installing in a 69

Hi, I am currently going to be installing a 96 Lt1 in my 69 vette and I am sure some of you guys have done this and I was wondering what problems I am going to be faced with? I currenly have a 350 motor with a stock 4 speed. I know I will need a flywheel but not sure of the size I will need in teeth and etc to match up with the new engine. I also wanted to know if anyone makes a aftermarket tach that will fit into the dash since I currenly have a cable driven tach? I have a 93 lt1 wiring harness that was made for a converson and also a 96 factory wiring harness that I would need to modify. Any information will be appreciate. THANKS

Do a search on this topic, there are plenty that have done it. A Tuned Port swap is similar, so you can try that too. (LT1 has OptiSpark, TPI has distributor. Must have LT1 accessories with LT1, TPI can use stock C3. Etc.) Use an 87 Corvette flywheel (among others), it's a 1-piece seal, single disc clutch. You will have to have your tach converted (Corvette Clocks by Roger and others) or use a 75-77 tach, but it won't match your 69 speedo. I would use the conversion harness if you have it. If you are good with wiring you can convert the harness, but 96 is OBD2 and you will have much more to deal with than 92-95 LT1. You can use an early harness on a 96 up motor. Street and Performance can fix your PCM to remove VATS and other stuff you won't need. Hope that helps.
