Default Anyone with a 71

This is a new post on an earlier topic. Could someone take a look at their 71 and tell me what the temp sensor unit on the drivers side cylinder head looks like. Also, is their a sensor on the passenger side cylinder head (around cylinder 6). Are they double blade or thumbtack? What do the jumper harness connections look like?. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Before I installed my ZZ4 my temp sensor on the drivers side was the button type (thumbtack as you called it). There was one on the passenger side as you discribed but Bubba didn't hook it up after the previous owner had the engine rebuilt. I can't find the harness, I guess Bubba hacked it.

Was the one on the pass side a dual blade? Thanks for your response.

It should be. It controls the TCS solenoid.

I seem to remember that it is, but I can't say for sure. I have all of that TCS stuff in a box in my shed. If no one else can give you the definite answer by tonight, I will go check it out and post the answer later tonight.

SSSSHHHHHH, I am at work right now but when I get home I'll take a look at the old motor. It is sitting on an engine stand and still has the right hand temp sensor in it.

Yes. It is a dual terminal sender with the one runnig perpendicular to the other. In other words, While looking directly at the terminals, one will be horizontal and the other vertical. I hope that makes sense.

Just looked at my passenger side temp sensor and it has one button type connetion. It looks as if a connection or two might have been broken off over the years (Bubba :smash: ) Like I said it wasn't hooked up when I bought the car. I hope we helped you out.
