Have this rattling in the inside front right part of the console on my '75 vette. The strange thing is, this is the second '75 I've had and both had and have this rattle.
It almost sounds like a vent door type rattle or light metalic sound. Anybody else had this weird and very annoying rattle?
Any help on this before I just start ripping this apart?
Please help a fellow C-3er out :cry
Hi My75Vette, I've had the console in and out of my 75 so many times over the past couple of years as I've redone the interior and painted the car....If you're talking about the area under the ash tray/cig lighter, then the light for the lighter comes to mind. It clips onto the barrel of the lighter, but Ive seen many that have lost the little snap on hood for the light. That might cause the light metallic rattle, but also might cause the light to flash as it occasionally grounds. If the rattle is in a different location, let me know and I'll come up with some other possibilities. BTW , you can get to the lighter connector and the light by just removing the ashtray. Might be worth a peek.
The only rattle I had in my dash awhile back was a metallic noise coming out of the center A/C vent when the fan was on high speed, but only when the car was in motion. I hate rattles:smash: :cuss I took the right side dash panel out and had my girlfriend run her hands over everything while I was driving. The rattle didn't bother her and she thought I was **** about it but that's why I'm a guy. Anyway it turned out to be a loose mounting bracket for the A/C duct work on her side. Easy fix and no more rattles
