Default Distributor Oil Leak ????

I was at a NCCC show this past weekend & a judge/inspector told me I had a oil leak coming from the distributor. He showed me some oil collecting near the shaft base and said it was a bad bearing or sleeve that was causing the leak. Has anyone dealt with this issue & can give me some pointers? Thanks--82 Crossfire.

Have you replaced the gasket that fits between the base of the distributor and the intake manifold? Or is the leak coming from somewhere else?

Just went through this with mine. The leak was at the elbow for the oil pressure sending unit and sprayed oil on the base of the distributor. I changed the distributor gasket, put RTV on both sides (bad idea by the way) and removed and replaced at least 5 times. Finally stuck my had back there with the engine running to find the leak was somewhere else.

I have gone in there with some brake cleaner & cleaned the area around the distributor up. Later today I will run it to get an exact location of the leak--I hope.

I have a recuring leak in that area, after making sure it was not comming from the oil pressure tube I decided to verify the intake seal to block,,, after pulling the intake twice and re-sealing with new seals etc etc, I'm still getting a little leak from something ???,, and its going to stay that way.. ,,, Maybe distributer ?? its possible,, but still looking for clues....

I cleaned around the alternator & drove it a little while, but I can not detect any leaks so far. It can't be too much, so I will keep monitoring it & post a final analysis--if any is found. Thanks
