Some one verify connections

Can someone verify Alternator connections please
Hello,
I have been helping a freind with a 70 Vette and have come to the conclusion that the charging system is overcharging. My question is, the plug labeled 1 & 2. #1 should be switched and from what i've read should read less than 12volts, more like 7. #2 should be 12 volts all the time. So, on this car #1 is reading 12 volts with the key on and I can't find a resistor and there is no charge light in the circuit. The wiring diagram doesn't show one either so I'm confused. Does anyone have any experience with this?
