After doing some engine compartment dress up on my '79, my a/c compressor no longer kicks in. When I slide the switch to max a/c the fan comes on but the compressor does not. It was working fine. I can't find anything that I pulled lose. I did arc my watch somehow on the alternator so my first thought was a fuse. I checked the fuses in the panel and they all ohmed ok. The labeling on my fuse block is faded so I really can't tell what is what. Does any one have or know where to find a diagram of the fuse block for a '79? Haynes just shows a older glass type style. Is there another fuse link or circut breaker in the a/c system anywhere else. I do have a newer compressor and I checked the voltage on the plug on the compressor and it shows none. I feel like this has to be electrial.?????
Thanks for the diagram, confirms that I was checking the correct fuse. Just wish it would have been the fuse and an easy fix.
Anyone know where the power door lock fuse is? I see a power assy but it does not look like a fuse. While I'm already standing on my head might as well fix those also.
Found out my problem. No Freon. As soon as I read the helpful post with the diagram I thought that was the problem. Fiqured low gas level was not letting the low pressure switch operate the compressor. My car is still R-12 so going to convert it over.
