Default Weather striping

OK, I bought new weather striping at the NCRS show last Jan. So this week I thought I would install it before my trip next week. Everything went well removing, cleaning and installing on the T-Tops. Took them to the my shop to put them on the car. Boy, I pushed, pulled, pressed and #%!@#. Trying to get them on. They now stick way up over the wind shield and on the back side stick up about 1/4". The weather striping was a perfect match. Has any one had this happen to them? And what did you do to fix it ?????

the t tops may have to be adjusted for the ''thicker'' new rubber,,until you ware it in ..i backed off on the nut and bolt on the handles..its normal for this..once its on for a little while you'll be able to snug up the adjustment,,who made the wheatherstripping you bought?? i used corvette rubber and it was dam near perfect except the t tops like you said,,but not a 1/4''....mine were fine after a week or so

I just did this job myself and you may also have to remove some of the shims in the tounge posts that fit into the slots in the birdcage spine. Or add them if need be. This will adjust the fit at the middle of your windsheild. You need to remove the headliner to get at the mounting bolts and the shims, if installed, slide out when you loosen the bolts. Also be careful the new seals don't fold over on you as you put your tops on.
