TH400 torque converter choice?
I am looking at getting a torque converter with a little higher than factory stall, say 2,500rpm.
After doing a search it appears hughes makes a good converter, but the prices mentioned are like $700-up.
As I am buying other stuff atm I can't really drop that much on a converetr. I noticed on summit there is a hughes 'street master' TC: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Would this give any better launch than the stock (the original 36 yr old converter in my TH400 350/300 motor'd '70).
The car is only driven on the street very rarely taken to the track, I just want a slightly better launch.
At that price would this hughes TC be just the same as a similarly priced TCI or B&M unit? What do you guys recommend?
Cheers,
cosmic
(BTW incase you are wondering this is a different car to the one getting an LS1 swap)
