You can align one with a screwdriver just as easily. Just eyeball the disc edges around the pressure plate as you align it all and tighten pressure plate.
Did your new Centerforce Clutch come with an alignment tool? Mine did not and kept me from intalling my engine this weekend.
NO my didnt either i sent them an email asking them if the 50 cent tool they could include with their 300 clutch was gonna bankrupt them? lol
I did get a polite reply though but still had to track down the tool lol
You nailed my thoughts exacly. Went to 2 auto parts houses today with no luck locating one. Clutch looks good but maybe this will help the next people get prepared.
anyone have problems with the pivot ball joint that mounts to the bell housing? I've heard the centerforce clutches require you to modify/weld this pivot ball to get correct pivot motion of the clutch fork.
True? false?

Never heard of this- but could explain some things-I'll be watching for other posts
I put a CF II in my 57 Chevy. Works great! Easy pedal, chirps 2nd everytime. Got the tool at Advanced Auto for $2, agree this should come with the kit. Also, I removed my centrifugal weights, so it would install easier, Long story on that, but it works great without them.
Centerforce clutches have been a problem in corvettes for a while. Not as muc the clutch but the alignment of the linkage. I l know there are several guys here who had to remove the tranny a couple of times to correct the alignment by using a stock ball stud. The aftermarket adjustable ones will work once you get them dialed to the correct length and then either weld or loctite them from moving,as this also became a problem. Now on a 57 chevy they might just bolt in but corvettes always are a little different then anything else.
I decided not to deal with this and sold my NIB centerforce and bought a Hays. It bolted right in and has worked fine every since( 3 years now)
I think Lars had the spec to set the linkage at but I'd have to look through a lot of notes to find it.
I bought a Hays at the same time as my Centerforce. Both are made by Sachs in Brazil and are so marked right on the cover. They appeared to be made of the same or nearly the same parts. I measures the depth of both clutch pressure plates and they were the same.
