I was looking at my Crane aluminum roller rockers and saw that some of the dowels on the tips are sticking out more than the others- not much, about an eighth of an inch. Is this normal? I got a hammer and drove one of them down in the casing a little, but I'm afraid that if I do this that they might eventually work themselves back out over time which would be a bad scene. Should I just replace them? I've looked at pictures of Comps Pro Mag rockers and a few others, and it looks like that they all have pressed in dowels on the roller tips-advise please.
Hi Brian, are these the Gold rockers or the Crane "Blue Racer" rockers?
I have been using the Blue Racer rocker arms for some time now with out any problems but I can't remember for sure about the dowel, I have some pictures somewhere on the computer of them so I will get back to you when I find them.
An eighth of an inch is a lot, did you measure them?
UPDATE:
OK, I found the pictures, and from what you can see below it looks like all of them are off-set so I would not worry about it. The machine probably pushes them in flush on one side and they end up sticking out a bit. If your really uncomfortable with using them you can give them to me, I'll pay shipping...LOL
