Default SB Nitrous Kit

The car is almost running (I hope), but the next thing on the list is to add a Nitrous Kit. I used to think it was "Ricer", but after doing research and seeing what a difference it makes it looks like a good way to go. From what I’ve read Edelbrock is the way to go for performance and engine longevity. They have two kits: 100 and 250 HP for Chevy, am leaning towards the 250. The car is a Street/Strip 350/400+ and would only use it at the strip and to do an occasional "Dusting"
Any advice from someone who is already using it would be appreciated.

250 is a big shot....i would stay with a 100-150 shot unless you have forged internals. From what i understand a standard small block can live happily on up to 150 with proper tuning.

Have an L82, which has basically has the exact same short block as the 71-72 LT-1. Forged crank, 4 Bolt Main with ARP studs. The heads have ARP bolts. It should handle an occasional 250 shot.

start with 150 and feel it out... better than pushing that button only to hear a big bang... just get a NOS cheater system.. then you can get the 250 jets later on if you so please.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and get something to control it. I just purchased the Jacobs nitrous mastermind. It has all kinds of safety features. I also got a purge valve kit. Better safe than sorry.
