Running rough under load
Started up the L48 4spd this morning and she idled great, just like she always does. BUT, put her in to gear and she didn't want to know. It feels like there's a rev limiter at 1500. She will not go over that.
Is this timing? An advance problem? Any ideas?

I'm running a Holley 650. With the air filter off, if I blip the throttle I see plenty of gas squirted in so I think I can discount fuel starvation. Let me know if there's a better way to check.

OK, took your advice and cleaned out the filters. (I use the brass powder metal filters that go in the inlets of my Holley.)
Lots a crud in there. Put it back together, reset the timing for 14BTDC (was at 12) and now it's running so sweet.....
