have a 74 vert all new bushings-inner & outer tie rods ends-new idler arm new upper& lower ball joints- berrings-races-shocks and sway bar 4 wheel laser alignment
on a semi rough road which we have plenty of in Illinois the car seems to shake as if something is loose you feel it in the steering and also thru the body car tracks stright as an arrow holds corners perfectlyand on a smooth road its perfect, nothing loose that i can find
Is it possible that the steering box or the center link (relay rod) is the problem

Have you ever driven other verts most of them have some shake.Check your frame in front of rear wheels where it starts up to go over wheels-also just over wheels-also check over swing arms-check all for rust through-check to see if your body mounts are good and still attached to frame and body.Check under dash for cross supports sometimes these are removed and not put back when doing heater core for instance.Verts need all the extra support they can get.If you have hardtop bolt it in place and try it-that usually makes a big differance.

what bushings were used, rubber or poly? poly will give a harsher ride...
If you have just replaced all that stuff, perhaps its because you were used to driving it 'loose' and now its all tight with the new fittings etc, your gonna feel the bumps abit more.
Probably not exactly what youre describing, but the upper and lower support bearings in the steering column are probably pretty well worn by now if they've never been changed.
About 40-60 bucks at the GM dealership and a few hours of time to do replace them.
If your steering wheel moves up and down, or left and right, these bearings are probably shot.
I used poly bushings as I did on my 76 and I will check on those cross supports and I guess i will wait until the snow flies to replace the steering column support bearings thanks for the tips
