Default Open Air Cleaner

The origional duel snorkel unit on my 78 was completely non-functional when I got this car because the connecting sections were missing. So now it just seems really restrictive. I want to put an open air cleaner on it but I am unsure how and where all of these vaccuum hoses need to be rerouted...if at all. Several of them just get circulated back to the carb anyway. Any suggestions?

i dont know what you mean by all, my 78 air cleaner had one vacuum line for the air doors off the back of the carb that i capped off and the vent hose off of the passengers side rear valve cover i stuck a round breather in.
