Sorry this is a boring question, sorry guys, here it goes:
Here are 2 pics... On the 2nd pic you can see the clamp and cable. On the 2nd pic does the clamp under the arrow clamp down on the cable? And should that spring be up next to the clamp or moved toward the front of the Vette? I just want to make sure everything including that spring is in the right places... I tried to clamp it down and it’s hard as hell to clamp-makes me wonder if it should or not. I imagine that after I have tension on the cable I won’t need to clamp it. I'd rather know now b4 I get the body back on. It's sure nice workin on this thing w/o the body.

The end you have noted does not clamp down-the plastic guide that someone noted goes back about 10 inches where the cable goes through the frame bracket
Things look fine. The ball end will have a greater tendacy to slip out until the whole cable assembly is attached and has tension applied to it. At that point it will not, or should not, come out.
