Default Primer Question

My last post about flex additive you guys convinced me to use transtar 1221. Viewing their website it only shows to come in black. If I primer the bumper cover with transtar black should I also primer the rest of the car in black so the bast coat will match the whole car? The whole car has been chemically stripped and it looked like the factory primer was black. Also I had my rear urathane bumper cover soda blasted which came out real good but there are a few gouges in the cover what do I use to fill these with? Thanks for the help

You will have a noticeable difference in final color if you use two shades of primer. I recommend a visit to your local paint store such as keystone and speak with the professionals. You can certainly find another additive that will better serve your needs. Also, a black primer will tend to dull your color coat if you are using a bright color such as red.

My car was 1977 Ontario Orange and when I chemically stripped the body it appeared to have factory black primer between the glass and orange. Did G.M. use black primer?
