68 Corvette Speaker Mounting

I thought I have seen it all but I guess not!!! Why would someone install a speaker on a one year only lower dash pad? AL.

That's a tough one.....68's are hard and expensive to work on

Where did they install it on the lower dash pad? Right side where the map pocket goes?

speakers on the 68 were in the kick panel's. I think 69 was the first year they were put up in the dash.

I'm not so sure AHOOVER is correct. I have a 69, and speakers are in the kickpanels, no speaker in the dash. It was built late January 69, so the change to the dash may have come later.
