Hello all,
A friend has a '96 BMW M3, supercharged, lots of engine work.
Anyhow, the throwout bearing is making noise when your foot is off the clutch pedal, a chirping noise that goes away as soon as you put slight pressure on the pedal. This is actually the 4th bearing he has put in. All top quality parts, new pilot bearing etc.
From my old school regular clutch days I'd suspect an adjustment problem, but I'm not up on hyd. linkages. Although my '77 is headed for a T56 LS1 swap soon.
I had an old Plymouth, Valiant back in the 60's as a teenager that used to go through throw out bearings every 5 to 10 thousand miles, until I replaced all the plastic bushings that were for the linkage between the pedal and the bearing, maybe his throw out fork is out of alignment or the hydraulic cable isn't adjusted correctly?
